| Víctor Barriere is a Salvadoran abstractionist painter. He became interested in plastic arts from a young age. He was born in San Salvador, El Salvador on May 28, 1941. He moved with his parents at the age of three to Los Angeles, California, United States. He began to study Chemistry at the University of El Salvador, a career he abandoned when he realized that his vocation was strongly linked to painting, dedicating himself to studying Plastic Arts, taking free classes at the School of Fine Arts. After having participated in an ESSO contest, he was chosen as one of the five best young artists in the country, and it is from that date that he began to exhibit his work individually and collectively in many galleries in El Salvador.
