Mauricio Linares Aguilar was born in Ahuachapán, El Salvador, 1966
He is a visual artist, teacher, curator and independent consultant. He has a degree in Graphic Design from the University Dr. José Matías Delgado of El Salvador. In addition, he completed a Master's degree in Fine Arts (MFA) option painting and engraving at the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Arkansas, United States of America and a Master's degree in History and Jewelry Design at the University of Siena, Italy. Aswell he is a Doctor of Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid.
Linares Aguilar main work is the line of painting, drawing, engraving, and photography. Linares Aguilar has made eighteen personal exhibitions and participated in more than one hundred collective exhibitions in several cities around the world. His work is in private and public collections: the Museum of Art of El Salvador, MARTE, the Museum of Modern Art and the UNIS-Rozas Botrán Museum in Guatemala, the Institute of Graphic Arts of Oaxaca, IAGO, the House of Culture from Monterrey, Mexico and the Tama University Museum in Tokyo, Japan and the Benetton Imago Mundi Collection, Rome, Italy, among others. Mauricio has received several recognitions, among which are: the Honors Diplomat of Plastic Arts and the Honor Hall of the French Lyceum Saint Exupèry in El Salvador and the bronze medal ex-aequo in photography of the Florence Prize 2017. In addition, he has been awarded scholarships for Creators of Latin America, FONCA-AECI, Fulbright-Laspau, University of Arkansas, Chamber of Commerce of Arezzo and Salvadoran talent of FANTEL.
